Who we are
Founder of the company is Christer Rosén, an economist and statistician with a background as a tennis coach, who now combines his experience from the sport with advanced data analysis.
We focus entirely on performance, personal growth and learning — not on results. By understanding how performance is created, we aim to enable growth and foster a strong growth mindset among athletes and coaches.
Over the years, Christer Rosèn has written several published articles on tennis analytics which you can find here. Christer Rosén also collaborate with the Swedish Ski Association on cross-country performance analysis.
At EGW, our performance metrics are built on this combination of coaching experience and analytical rigor. Our analyses are inspired by what the greatest players in the sport emphasize as fundamental to long-term development — especially the mental components that shape a true growth mindset.
But we didn’t stop at expert insights or intuition. We analyzed hundreds of players and thousands of matches to identify which patterns most strongly predict sustained performance. Before defining the metrics we use today, we tested numerous indicators through our own analytics platform, which processed large volumes of match data via the Goalserve API over nearly two years.
This work forms the foundation of EGW — a system designed to help athletes understand, train, and strengthen the mental aspects that truly drive development and longevity as a tennis player.
